Job description

A Music + Entertainment brand is seeking a Digital Content Editor to support the day-to-day operation of externally facing company blog. This is a hands-on editorial role requiring a strong writer and editor who can work quickly and independently across music, entertainment, sports, podcasts, news, and our programming. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in digital writing and editing, WordPress, SEO, and LLM/AI-assisted content workflows, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift throughout the day. This person will help identify timely content opportunities, turn programming and partner materials into compelling consumer-facing stories, optimize content for organic search and discovery, and manage posts through the full publishing process.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, optimize, publish, and update content for the company blog across music, entertainment, sports, podcasts, programming, and other relevant topics
• Work quickly to publish timely and trending content, including breaking entertainment news, celebrity interviews and revelations, sports tune-in information, programming announcements, channel launches, performances, and other high-interest moments
• Monitor trending news, search behavior, and the broader entertainment and sports landscape to proactively identify relevant editorial opportunities
• Evaluate interviews, transcripts, audio/video clips, press materials, and programming information to identify the strongest and most newsworthy/searchable angles for blog coverage
• Write and optimize headlines, title tags, meta descriptions, URLs/slugs, subheads, internal links, and other on-page elements
• Apply SEO best practices and an understanding of search intent to maximize organic visibility while maintaining editorial quality
• Manage the full WordPress publishing workflow, including drafting, formatting, tagging, linking, imagery, metadata, scheduling, publishing, updating, and post-publication QA
• Source, select, crop, and prepare editorial imagery using approved brand assets and Getty Images
• Use LLMs and AI-assisted workflows effectively for research, transcript analysis, ideation, drafting, headline development, SEO optimization, summarization, and other editorial tasks
• Exercise strong editorial judgment when using AI tools, including fact-checking and refining AI-assisted output before publication
• Maintain and update existing high-performing and evergreen blog content when programming information, dates, channel numbers, links, or other details change
• Create and maintain presale, promotional, poll/countdown, and other recurring content pages using established templates and workflows
• Create deep links and tracked URLs as needed to support blog content and drive listeners into the company app
• Perform pre- and post-publication QA to ensure content, links, images, metadata, formatting, and listening calls to action are accurate and functioning properly
• Troubleshoot routine WordPress/CMS issues and elevate larger technical problems to the appropriate internal teams
• Manage multiple simultaneous requests and deadlines from Programming, Marketing, PR, Promotions, Sports, Music, Talk/Entertainment, and other internal stakeholders
• Attend relevant editorial and cross-functional meetings to stay informed about upcoming programming, campaigns, launches, and content opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and headline-writing skills
• Professional experience creating digital editorial content, preferably in entertainment, music, sports, media, or pop culture
• Strong hands-on experience with WordPress or a comparable CMS
• Working knowledge of SEO, including keyword/search intent, title tags, meta descriptions, internal linking, URL structure, content freshness, and on-page optimization
• Strong familiarity with Google Search and digital news/trend cycles
• Demonstrated proficiency using LLMs and generative AI tools as part of professional content workflows
• Ability to use AI tools efficiently while maintaining independent editorial judgment and verifying accuracy
• Ability to write and publish quickly without sacrificing accuracy or quality
• Strong editorial instincts and the ability to recognize which topics, quotes, interviews, or developments have meaningful audience and search potential
• Ability to prioritize a high volume of requests and adjust quickly when breaking or time-sensitive opportunities emerge
• Strong attention to detail and ability to independently QA published work
• Comfort working cross-functionally and communicating with multiple stakeholders
