Job summary

WYFF 4, the NBC/CBS affiliate in Greenville, SC, is seeking a Digital Content Editor to craft compelling content for our website, mobile products and social platforms. You’ll be an excellent storyteller and will edit and publish under tight deadlines.

You will report to the News Director and collaborate with reporters, editors and producers to ensure timely posts and cross-promotions, including managing LIVE streams of newscasts and breaking news.

Qualifications

• Experience writing, editing and publishing news and feature content.
• Ability to manage LIVE streams of breaking news and events.
• Solid news judgment and editorial judgment under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with social media best practices and audience growth.

WYFF 4, the NBC / CBS affiliate in Greenville, SC is looking for a well-rounded Digital Content Editor who will create content for our station's website, mobile products and social media platforms. You will be an excellent storyteller and can edit and create content facing intense competition under constant deadline pressure. You will report to the News Director.

Responsibilities

• Write/edit and publish breaking news, daily news, sports, weather, and feature stories for the stations website, mobile and social media pages
• Work with Reporters and Assignment Editors to ensure content is posted quickly
• Work with Producers, Assignment Editors and Managers to ensure cross promotion of content across all platforms
• Manage LIVE streams of newscasts and breaking news
• Contribute ideas to help grow the station's digital platforms

Requirements

• Professional experience with non-linear editing software (Adobe Premiere or equivalent)
• News and editorial judgment
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop and video editing
• Experience with social media best practices
• Flexibility to work different shifts, holidays on short notice to cover a 24-hour news cycle
• Work well in an environment with frequent interruptions
• Related military experience will be considered
• In-person attendance is required
