Job Description

If you love photography, video, graphic design, and social media, this 12‑month position places you at the heart of the district’s digital storytelling. Under the supervision of the Chief Information and Innovation Officer, you will create, publish, and manage engaging digital content that promotes the school department’s mission, celebrates student and staff achievements, and strengthens communication with families, staff, and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Content Creation
    • Capture high‑quality photography and video at district events, classrooms, athletic competitions, concerts, graduations, and special programs.
    • Edit videos for social media, website publication, presentations, and promotional campaigns.
    • Produce professional graphics using industry‑standard design software.
    • Write engaging copy for digital publications, social media, newsletters, and website articles.
  • Social Media Management
    • Manage the district’s official social media accounts.
    • Develop and maintain a content calendar.
    • Create daily, weekly, and monthly social media campaigns.
    • Monitor engagement and respond to public interaction in accordance with district policies.
    • Analyze social media metrics and recommend strategies for increasing community engagement.
  • Website Management
    • Maintain and update the district website and school web pages.
    • Ensure timely posting of news, announcements, calendars, and emergency communications.

  • Graphic Design

    • Ensure proper photo releases and media permissions.
  • Communications Support
    • Assist with district newsletters.

    • Support crisis and emergency communications.
    • Help maintain consistent district branding.
  • Marketing & Community Engagement
    • Promote district programs and highlight student success stories.
    • Support recruitment initiatives and develop campaigns for enrollment and special events.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Photography
    • DSLR and mirrorless camera operation, lighting techniques, event and portrait photography, photo editing.
  • Videography
    • Video production, audio recording, storyboarding, editing, motion graphics.
  • Graphic Design
    • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Express, Canva.
  • Video Editing
    • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut.
  • Web
    • Knowledge of CMS, basic HTML/CSS, WordPress, accessibility standards, SEO fundamentals.
  • Social Media Platforms
    • Managing Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok (where permitted).
  • Technology Skills
    • Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Mailchimp or similar, cloud storage, digital asset management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related field.
  • FAA Part 107 Drone License.

Physical Requirements
