Job summary

The Children's Museum of South Dakota seeks a Digital Content Assistant to promote interactive learning through digital and social channels. You will help tell museum stories, support marketing efforts, and extend community reach by capturing and creating digital content that reflects our playful learning experiences.

This onsite, part-time role involves drafting copy, coordinating content calendars, and collaborating with staff to highlight programs and events.

Qualifications

• Experience in social media, digital content creation, marketing, or communications is preferred.
• Experience with Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong design sense and attention to detail.
• Team player who can work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create, schedule, and edit social media content that reflects the Museum's mission and interactive learning through play.
• Draft and edit copy for marketing and communication materials,including email messages, social captions, blogs, and website updates.
• Capture moments through photo and video content to support digital storytelling and promotional efforts.
• Support social media content design using basic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
• Collaborate with staff from all departments to identify and source content for storytelling.
• Proactively engage with guests and explore the Museum to find and share stories that reflect our mission.
• Brainstorm content ideas to increase online visibility and engagement.
• Help maintain digital content calendars and promote upcoming events and highlights.
• Assist with events, outreach, and media opportunities, including day-of coordination.
• Maintain organized photo and media libraries.
• Support various marketing and communications projects as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned to meet organizational needs.
