A passionate charity, The Jade Speaks Up Educational Trust, seeks a talented Digital Communications Specialist for a remote contractor role. The ideal candidate will have experience in storytelling and media pitching, focusing on delivering impactful digital strategies for their e-learning programme. This role offers flexibility, with approximately 5 hours a week, perfect for someone looking to make a difference in education and wellbeing.

The Jade Speaks Up Educational Trust (JSUET) is a small, passionate charity focused on emotional literacy and student wellbeing. We’re launching our first e-learning course for teachers and need a capable communications lead to help us reach our audience through smart, focused storytelling and digital strategy.
Proven experience pitching stories, media releases, or content to journalists and editors
A strong grasp of how traditional and digital media operates (including Meta/Google ad basics)
Experience running targeted PR or social impact campaigns
Confidence writing and scheduling content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
Strong instincts for what makes people pay attention
Resourcefulness, independence, and excellent time management
Interest in education or wellbeing is a plus, but not essential
Approx. 5 hours per week
Remote/flexible – work from anywhere in Aotearoa
Contractor role at $50 per hour
Initial contract to late December, with possibility to extend
Build awareness of our new e-learning programme
Pitch human-centred stories to media and education platforms
Create and post social content that sparks connection and interest
Run small but effective digital campaigns to drive sign-ups
Track performance and suggest tweaks for greater impact
