The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Digital Communications Student Assistant to support the OnRamps Communications and Marketing team. This remote role offers up to 15 hours per week and pays $12.00–$14.50 per hour, with starting dates as early as August 16, 2026, and a project duration through December 31, 2026.

You will develop, coordinate and edit content across newsletters, social media, and canvass platforms, track email metrics, and help with brand-guided content while coordinating

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) or similar applications.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with moderate independence.
  • Ability to collaborate within a group environment.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Work-Study Job Information Carly Price- Supervisor Up to 15 hours weekly. Schedule to be determined with supervisor. Remote in Austin area New OnRamps student employee pay is $12.00 hourly. Returning OnRamps student employee pay is $13.00 hourly. Returning 2 years or more OnRamps student employee pay is $14.00 hourly. Professional development completion + Returning 2 years or more OnRamps student employee pay is $14.50. Position effective August 16-December 31, 2026 Several positions open to The University of Texas at Austin Undergraduate students only.

Purpose

The Digital Communications Student Assistant works directly with the OnRamps Communications and Marketing team. This role may include developing, coordinating, scheduling, reviewing, writing, or editing content in a range of formats, including email newsletters, marketing collateral, slide presentations, social media, Canvas, and other platforms used by OnRamps students and partners. The Digital Communications Student Assistant also plays a key role in maintaining our email newsletter metrics, tracking, and analysis. Exercise creativity and contribute to the OnRamps digital communications strategy while sharing our story with students, teachers, and educational administrators across Texas. This is a remote position with occasional opportunities to attend team meetings and network with other OnRamps student employees virtually and in-person.

Salary

Salary $12.00 - $14.50 hourly
