Job summary

Akron Public Schools is seeking a Communications and Multimedia Specialist to develop digital media for internal and external communications, create copy, and manage content across district websites and social channels. The role supports the district's mission and strategic plan through engaging multimedia and timely communications.

The candidate will collaborate with translation services, ensure brand standards, and stay current with web design and multimedia technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications or related field, or equivalent combination education/experience.
3 years of experience with development and execution of digital marketing and communications including social media platforms and marketing analytics.
Strong listening and communication skills.
The capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Develop and create digital media for internal and external communications to support the district's mission and strategic plan.
Create copy for internal and external communications.
Write, review, edit, and update content for district communications.
Conduct research and interviews for district communication projects.
Coordinate with translation services to ensure messaging is translated for print, web, and other media sources.
