Who You Are:

ACT is seeking an experienced manager to lead our digital communications efforts across social media, web, and email. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor who understands how to develop content for different audiences and platforms and can use performance data to guide communications strategy.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable setting priorities, managing projects independently, and working collaboratively across the organization. The right candidate will be interested in following digital trends, identifying new opportunities, and finding effective ways to communicate complex policy, technical, and organizational information to a variety of audiences.

What to Expect:

The digital communications manager will be responsible for developing and implementing ACT’s digital communications strategy across social media, our website, and email. This position reports to the director of global communications and works closely with the membership, policy, and global teams.

This position is located in Washington, D.C. with in-person work required three days per week, with flexibility for the other two days.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing digital communications strategies that support organizational goals
  • Managing the organization’s social media presence, including content planning, creation, scheduling, and execution
  • Developing and maintaining content calendars, campaign timelines, and editorial workflows
  • Writing and editing digital content while maintaining a consistent organizational voice

  • Developing and supporting email communications and campaigns
  • Working with teams across the organization to identify communications priorities and opportunities

  • Experience using performance data to evaluate digital content and inform future communications decisions
  • Working knowledge of content management systems such as WordPress
  • Experience with email platforms such as Mailchimp or EveryAction
  • Experience with social media scheduling and management tools such as Hootsuite, Loomly, or Sprout Social
  • Familiarity with web and digital analytics tools such as GA4
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Additional Experience That Would be Helpful:
  • Experience using video editing tools such as CapCut or Instagram Edits
  • Experience translating technical, policy, or legal information into accessible content for broader audiences
What Success Looks Like:

During the first six months, the digital communications manager will become familiar with ACT’s audiences, communications priorities, and existing digital presence and take responsibility for the organization’s day-to-day digital communications.

Priorities will include:

  • Managing the social media content calendar and execution
  • Reviewing the organization’s current digital presence and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Developing a digital communications strategy for the remainder of the year
  • Establishing regular processes for evaluating digital performance and using those results to inform communications planning
  • Building strong working relationships with teams across the organization and helping translate their priorities into effective digital content
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary range based on experience. Salary range of $70,000–$95,000
