Freeman+Leonard is seeking a Digital Communications Manager for a global technology manufacturing company. The Digital Division Communications Manager will lead communications strategies that amplify the digital narrative to internal and external audiences. The candidate will be responsible for partnering directly with the leadership team, business segments, communications colleagues, media relations and key stakeholders to develop, manage, optimize and execute communications strategies.
Digital is an accelerator for our customers, helping them to avoid downtime, increase productivity and save costs. In this role, you’ll be accountable for developing and owning messaging in support of advanced technology leader initiatives, strategic priorities, including AI & Analytics, equipment management, leads and insights, eCommerce and digital marketing. You will lead a team of communicators and work closely with leadership and subject matter experts to design and execute strategic communications to further the organization’s business objectives.
What You Will Do:
Job duties may include but are not limited to:
- Develop and deliver executive positioning strategies, plans, and deliverables for the Senior Vice President/Chief Digital Officer. Deliverables may include awards, media talk points, external speaking prep, and LinkedIn thought leadership.
- Lead a team of communications professionals who sit in a variety of locations that support the leadership team and strategic priorities of the division.
- Drive internal and external communication strategies, develop materials to achieve segment objectives while tying them to enterprise narratives, and measure the results of those efforts.
- Responsible for ensuring the employees are connected to the enterprise strategy using tactics, including but not limited to media backgrounders, speeches, social media posts, video scripts, presentations, newsletter articles, and internal all-leader and all-employee meetings
What You Will Have (Required):
- Education/Experience: College or university degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Organizational Communications: Significant experience leading global communications efforts with an emphasis on external communications (i.e. media relations, social media, tech communications, branding)
- Strategic Planning: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to strategic planning in support of the overall business plan; ability to measure business impact for public relations efforts
- Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, technical information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
- Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization
- Interpersonal Relationships: Successful in supporting and interacting with senior-level executives; excellent interpersonal skills to engage on sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the department to take specific actions
