Job summary

Hatteras Press Inc in New Jersey is seeking a Digital Coater & Embellishment Operator to produce digitally printed and embellished client projects per job specs. The role covers coating and ZRX embellishment (foil, UV spot, and flood coat) across various substrates, ensuring sharp registration and high-quality finishes.

You will set up and run the digital coater, load embellishment files, monitor foil handling, verify cure and adhesion, and coordinate with the Digital Pressroom Manager to meet

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or beneficial.
• Knowledge of graphic arts and printing industry is advantageous.
• Experience with digital printing procedures or front-end software is preferred.
• Mechanical background and ability to work independently are valued.
• Comfort with embellishment file prep and spot/foil layers is important.
• Experience with Harris & Bruno ZRX or similar equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to color, finish and registration quality.

Responsibilities

• Coater set-up and operation for preprinted jobs with quality control.
• Apply AQ, UV and soft-touch coatings maintaining coverage per job ticket.
• Set up and operate ZRX embellishment system for flood coat/foil effects.
• Load, build, verify embellishment files and align layers to the printed image.
• Handle foil: load, thread, tension, track and verify color/finish.
• Verify cure and adhesion of coatings and foil before downstream handling.
• Understand substrates and adjust equipment for stock/size.
• Visually inspect coated/embellished sheets for defects and accuracy.
• Coordinate with Digital Pressroom Manager to prioritize jobs and adjust schedule.
• Maintain daily machine care, wash cycles, and safety standards.
• Record run data, waste, usage, and quality issues.
• Move pallets and handle material up to 50 lbs as needed.
