Job Description Albemarle is hiring for a Digital Business Partner - Human Resources. This position is hybrid and located in Charlotte NC.

Position Overview

The Digital Business Partner (DBP) serves as the strategic interface between business functions and IT, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value and support enterprise strategy. This role operates as a trusted advisor to functional leadership, translating business strategy into prioritized technology outcomes, shaping demand, and co‑owning value realization across the portfolio. The DBP plays a critical role in advancing digital, data, AI, and automation capabilities across the enterprise. Technology Business Partners align technology capabilities to business priorities, drive adoption of new digital capabilities, and help ensure technology initiatives deliver measurable outcomes.

What You Will Do

Strategy Alignment

• Participate in business strategy, OKR, and annual planning processes (AOP / LRP)
• Translate functional strategy into multi-year technology and capability roadmaps
• Identify digital, data, AI, and automation opportunities that improve performance and cost position
• Serve as strategic advisor to functional leadership on technology trends and opportunities DBPs typically collaborate with functional leaders to understand strategy and develop aligned technology roadmaps.

Demand Shaping & Prioritization

• Shape demand before intake through early problem framing and value qualification
• Facilitate prioritization using value, risk, and capacity trade‑offs
• Translate business needs into technology investment priorities and solution direction
• Partner with Architecture, Product, and Delivery to ensure solution fit and scalability Demand management and translating business needs into technology priorities are core DBP responsibilities.

Value Articulation & Realization

• Lead business case development and ROI modeling
• Define measurable success metrics prior to funding approval
• Track value realization post‑deployment and drive corrective actions where needed
• Provide portfolio transparency and value reporting to functional leadership
• DBPs are expected to quantify value and ensure technology initiatives deliver measurable outcomes.

Executive Partnership

• Maintain strong executive relationships within assigned functions
• Act as primary liaison between business and IT leadership
• Provide insight, best practices, and perspective in leadership decision forums
• Partner with Change, HR, and Transformation teams to drive adoption and business outcomes
• DBPs serve as the primary bridge between business units and IT and build trusted stakeholder relationships.

Roadmap Creation & Co‑Ownership

• Co‑create and co‑own annual and multi‑year technology roadmaps with business leaders
• Connect roadmap investments to strategy, demand signals, and value realization outcomes
• Support portfolio reviews and investment governance forums
• Ensure roadmap alignment with enterprise architecture and platform strategies
• DBPs commonly co‑develop multi‑year roadmaps and align them to enterprise strategy and architecture.

Human Resources & Communications Domain Responsibility Summary

Responsible for enabling and supporting technology capabilities across Human Resources, Global Communications, and External Affairs. This domain focuses on improving workforce effectiveness, employee experience, communications effectiveness, stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and organizational agility through process excellence, data‑driven decision making, automation, and digital innovation.

What You Bring

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Digitization or related field
• 8+ years experience in IT Business Partner, Digital Transformation, Consulting, or Product roles
• Experience working with executive stakeholders
• Experience in business case development and portfolio prioritization
• Strong understanding of enterprise technology environments (ERP, data, integration, cloud, AI)

Preferred:

• Experience in manufacturing, chemicals, or industrial environments
• Experience with digital transformation, AI, automation, or data platforms
• MBA or advanced technical degree
• Experience supporting AOP / LRP planning cycles
• Experience in value tracking and benefits realization

Success Measures (First 12–18 Months)

• Technology roadmap aligned to business strategy and funding cycles
• Increased % of investments with quantified ROI and success metrics
• Improved value realization tracking post‑deployment
• Increased proactive demand shaping vs reactive intake
• Strong executive satisfaction and partnership scores
