REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years of experience in Art Direction or Creative Direction with digital brand experiences
- Proven experience translating brand campaigns and creative systems into best-in-class digital experiences across web, mobile app, and commerce platforms
- Deep understanding of UX/UI principles and how creative decisions impact customer engagement and conversion
- Strong knowledge of current trends, consumer behavior, and evolving digital experiences with a focus in sport and culture
- Experience working within established brand systems while identifying opportunities to innovate and push creative boundaries
- Ability to balance creative vision with business objectives, operational constraints, and channel best practices
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Brand, Creative, Production, UX, Digital Commerce, and Global partners
- Strong portfolio demonstrating digital-first thinking across eCommerce, content, and brand experiences
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence creative decisions
Overview
The Digital Art Director serves as a strategic creative partner responsible for elevating Nike's digital brand expression across owned digital channels and new sell through channels, such as Amazon. This role sits at the intersection of brand, creative, UX, and digital commerce, translating global creative direction into engaging, channel-right experiences for North America consumers. Rather than originating seasonal campaigns or developing brand playbooks, the Digital Art Director adapts and evolves existing global frameworks, ensuring content and experiences feel innovative, culturally relevant, and optimized for digital environments. The ideal candidate combines creative excellence with business acumen, bringing a strong point of view on how digital experiences should evolve while partnering closely with production teams to execute at scale.
- Translate global brand and sport creative direction into compelling North America digital experiences across .com, app, and commerce platforms
- Adapt existing digital standards, creative frameworks, and playbooks into actionable guidance and recommendations for digital execution
- Evaluate sport and category storytelling opportunities, evolving landing pages and digital experiences to create more engaging and differentiated consumer journeys
- Partner with global and geo teams to ensure digital executions align to brand direction while addressing regional business needs Provide art direction and creative guidance for owned-channel experiences, focusing on hierarchy, composition, storytelling, and visual cohesion
- Stay deeply connected to emerging digital design trends, cultural moments, consumer behaviors, and evolving UX best practices
- Advocate for channel-right creative solutions, challenging conventional approaches and identifying opportunities to enhance digital experiences
- Identify opportunities to move beyond repetitive or formulaic digital executions while maintaining consistency with established brand systems
- Assess how creative assets are being leveraged across digital ecosystems and recommend enhancements that improve consumer engagement and overall brand expression
- Partner closely with UX, Design, Copy, and Production teams to ensure creative intent is maintained through final execution Provide creative consultation and digital design feedback on priority initiatives, ensuring experiences are both visually compelling and user-centered
- Support Amazon and emerging commerce experiences by helping define digital creative vision, content presentation, and customer-facing storytelling approaches
- Deliver clear creative direction and recommendations that can be effectively handed off to production teams for execution
- Balance innovation, speed, scalability, and business objectives when making creative and experience recommendations
