Job description

Are you a strategic, creative digital storyteller who knows how to turn complex public policy into content that grabs attention and moves the conversation? Do you know how to spot the story before everyone else does and recognize when, where, and how an organization should show up to make an impact? Are you constantly tracking what’s happening, finding the unexpected angle, and turning timely moments into digital content people actually stop for? If so, the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) is looking for a dynamic Digital Advocacy Manager to shape, sharpen, and elevate NADA’s digital advocacy presence.

This is a full-time position offering a positive work culture, competitive salary, and comprehensive benefits. The role requires occasional travel (up to 10%), including weekday and weekend travel, industry trade shows, and onsite event presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead NADA’s digital advocacy strategy across social media and emerging platforms to strengthen visibility, relevance, and authority.
  • Monitor policy and political developments and identify timely opportunities for NADA to shape conversations and advance advocacy priorities.
  • Advise Public Affairs strategically on what to communicate, where, when, and how to tell compelling policy stories.
  • Translate complex policy issues into clear, credible, accessible, and engaging digital content.
  • Create and manage multimedia content including social posts, videos, graphics, infographics, stories, reels, and other formats.
  • Develop and expand advocacy campaigns using creative storytelling, new platforms, partnerships, trends, and fresh ideas to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Maintain an active digital presence year-round, including real-time coverage of major advocacy moments and content during slower news cycles.
  • Manage digital operations and performance, including content calendars, approvals, brand consistency, SOPs, workflows, metrics, testing, and continuous optimization.
  • Integrate digital advocacy across NADA, coordinating with internal teams and broader communications initiatives to maximize reach, engagement, and policy impact.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, political science, public policy, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent amount of relevant experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in public policy, advocacy, public affairs, social media strategy, and/or digital content creation required. Association, Capitol Hill, government affairs, or related experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex public policy, legislative, regulatory, or political issues into compelling and accessible content for digital audiences.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, digital trends, audience engagement, and content strategy, with demonstrated experience creating and executing social media campaigns.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences and platforms while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
  • Experience creating and editing multimedia content, including short-form video, graphics, photography, and infographics.
  • Strategic, proactive, and forward-thinking approach, with the confidence to bring new ideas, identify opportunities, and recommend where and how NADA should engage digitally.
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate across departments to achieve shared goals.

NADA is fundamentally committed to the diversity of our staff. We believe diversity is excellence expressing itself through every person’s perspective and lived experiences.
