Job summary

Garver LLC is seeking a Digital Accessibility Specialist in Austin to improve digital content for WCAG compliance and accessibility best practices. This in-office role involves training staff and coordinating with IT, legal, engineering, and communications to implement accessibility strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field, experience with WCAG and Section 508, and proficiency with accessibility testing tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, IT, web design, or related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 or later success criteria.
• Experience with Section 508 compliance and remediation.
• Experience remediating web pages, Microsoft Office files, PDFs, and Audio/Video files.
• Familiarity with accessibility testing and review tools (WAVE, ANDI, Adobe Acrobat).
• Ability to identify accessibility issues and propose effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and remediate digital content for accessibility standards, including PDFs, Word docs, PowerPoint, and websites.
• Conduct accessibility audits and provide guidance on WCAG and other guidelines.
• Collaborate with content creators to develop accessible documents best practices.
• Prepare and present reports on compliance status.
• Provide training and support to staff on accessibility tools and techniques.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and accessibility legislation.
• Coordinate with IT, legal, engineering, and communications to develop accessibility strategies.
• Manage deliverable timelines with project managers.
