Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Responsibilities

• Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy to individuals with specialized health conditions and/or specialized populations.
• Uses the Nutrition Care Process to facilitate complex nutrition care with moderate autonomy.
• Applies advanced counseling techniques to influence behavior change.
• Uses nutrition technology to estimate needs and goals (e.g., indirect calorimetry, nutrient analysis software, glucometers).
• Mentors newly graduated dietitians, dietetic interns, and clinical diet techs.
• Applies research to improve patient outcomes and updates care practices within the facility.
• Manages nutrition care across the continuum including durable medical equipment order writing.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist order writing privileges per policy/protocol.
