Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a Registered Dietitian who develops and implements nutritional care plans based on patient needs, growth, and disease state. The role requires at least 1 year of RD experience and offers a competitive benefits package. Department: Arnold Palmer Hospital Clinical Nutrition.

Status: Pool (PRN). Shift: First. This position supports inpatient pediatric nutrition services and clinical care delivery at Orlando Health’s downtown Orlando

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by CADE/AND.
• AND registration and Florida licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients and/or significant others on nutritional principles, dietary plans, and food selections.
• Writes orders per policy and documents dietary history and care data.
• Participates in physician and health care team rounds.
• Serves as the nutrition care consultant and coordinates diet office activities.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Writes orders per policy.
• Counsels patients and/or significant others on nutritional principles, dietary plans, and food selections taking into account cultural and ethnic requests.
• Communicates appropriate dietary history and nutritional care data through medical record documentation system.
• Participates in physician and health care team interdisciplinary rounds.
• Serves as the consultant on nutrition care.
• Coordinates activities in the diet office as needed.
• The registered dietitian is expected to adhere to Orlando Health policies, procedures, guidelines, mission and vision statements, and commitment to excellence.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Training

• Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).

Licensure/Certification

• Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) registration and State of Florida licensure required.
