Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a Dietitian - Registered Dietitian for a 13-week contract in Michigan. The role requires a minimum of 1 year of recent full-time RD experience in acute care, nursing homes, or inpatient rehabilitation.

Must be licensed as a Registered Dietitian and trained in NFPE and nutrition support. The successful candidate will assess nutritional needs, implement care plans, coordinate education programs, and collaborate with health care teams to achieve optimal patient

Certifications: Credential issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Description:Act as a nutritional consultant and resource to members of the health care team.Provide comprehensive nutritional care, including assessment, diagnosis, implementation of a care plan, counseling, education, and evaluation of outcomes for patients, families, and associates.Coordinate various education programs and seminars on nutritional topics.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:Assess the nutritional needs of patients by obtaining, verifying, and interpreting data needed to identify nutrition-related problems, their causes, and significance.Determine, from the patient/family, medical record, and health care team, the food and nutrition-related history, anthropometric measurements, biochemical data, medical tests, procedures, nutrition-focused physical findings, and client history.Identify and describe a specific nutrition problem that can be resolved or improved through treatment/nutrition intervention by the Registered Dietitian.Implement nutrition interventions to resolve or improve the identified nutrition problem based on individualized patient care needs, including food delivery, nutrition education, and care coordination.Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes to determine progress and whether goals are being met.Monitor patient's food tolerances to ensure appropriate food consistencies and assess adequate nutritional intake.Collaborate and communicate with health care providers, acting as a consultant and informing the team of diet therapy advances and unusual diet-related lab results.Educate patients and/or their significant others on nutrition and special diets to support health maintenance.Document nutrition services provided in the patient\'s medical record.Develop and conduct in-service classes, community education, and other health and nutrition offerings as requested.Participate in special projects and committees related to nutritional care.Maintain and enhance professional expertise through appropriate educational activities.Supervise dietetic interns/students, orienting them to the profession and providing clinical teaching and mentoring.Demonstrate professional characteristics and ethics by adhering to policies and maintaining up-to-date knowledge and skills.Perform other related duties as required.


Skills Required:Ability to read, write, and speak English and understand medical terminology.Follow oral and written instructions and perform arithmetic calculations.Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Relatively high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with health care professionals, patients, and families.Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities and standards.
