Job Summary

STGi is seeking qualified candidates for this position in connection with an active Request for Proposals (RFP). Hiring for this role is contingent upon STGi's selection as the successful awardee. This will be a part‑time position. M‑F normal hours, no weekends, holidays or on‑call required.

Responsibilities

Dietitians at VA medical centers perform or supervise duties in providing a full range of professional dietetic services. Clinical dietitians manage medical nutrition, education, quality improvement, and the nutritional phase of medical research studies. VA Dietitians closely work with physicians, nurses, and other allied health personnel to integrate patients’ nutritional care into the total treatment program. The Dietitian’s contribution includes the nutritional assessment of patients and the development of nutritional care plans, nutrition interventions, and individualized nutrition education.

Major Duties:

• Incumbent provides nutritional care for patients and provides patient screening and patient education.
• Develops, implements, and monitors the nutrition care plan based on the physician’s diet prescription and the Dietitian’s nutritional assessment of the patient.
• Participates with the health team.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Food, Nutrition, Food Service Management, Institution Management or related science.
• All applicants must be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing branch of the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
• Verbal and written communication skills and computer skills required.

Required Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience.
• Previous clinical nutrition practice experience.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average‑weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• Required to respond to any medical emergency within the clinic, where a fast walk or job may be necessary to provide assistance.
