Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness, seeks an FNW Program Specialist IV to ensure school meal program compliance and support healthy school environments. The role covers NSLP/SBP/ASSP/SFSP/SSO menu reviews, nutrient analyses, and technical assistance to authorities.

The incumbent will develop training resources, review wellness policies, and assist with internship programs, while traveling as needed for the division's programs.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent with 8 years in relevant fields.
• A bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience; or
• A master's degree substituting for one year of experience.
• Requires a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with school meal program regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate NSLP/SBP/ASSP/SFSP/SSO menu plans for nutrition standards.
• Perform nutrient analyses to verify calories, sodium and fats meet standards.
• Provide technical assistance on menu planning and yield information.
• Develop nutrition resources and training materials for staff and authorities.
• Review wellness policies and assist with local wellness goals.
• Support dietetic interns and analyze recipes with the division chef.
• Assist with disaster/emergency management functions.
