Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services – Division of Food, Nutrition and Wellness seeks a FNW Program Specialist IV to monitor NSLP and related school meal programs, and to lead on-site reviews of School Food Authorities and Sponsors. The role requires strong regulatory knowledge and coordination with procurement, nutrition standards and reporting teams.

Travel is required; candidates should have advanced education or equivalent hands-on experience in consumer/public health

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or its equivalent plus eight (8) years of professional or technical experience in consumer complaint program work, business administration, consumer or public relations, investigations, administrative work, professional regulation, or a field related to the area of responsibility.
• A bachelor's degree (four (4) years) from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional experience in consumer complaint program work, business administration, customer or public relations, investigations, administrative work, professional regulation, or a field related to the area of responsibility.
• A master's degree (6 years) from an accredited college or university can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor program requirements under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) including related programs (SBP, ASSP, FFVP, SMP, SSO, SFSP).
• Conduct on-site reviews of School Food Authorities and Sponsors participating in the child nutrition programs.
• Prepare work packets and complete review tools within regulatory timeframes; organize documents appropriately.
• Conduct entrance and exit conferences to review focus, scope, findings and corrective actions with SFAs/Sponsors/sites.
• Coordinate with procurement, resource management, and nutrition standards teams to issue SMAR reports and corrective action plans.
