Job summary

HCA Healthcare in Irving, TX is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to coordinate patient nutritional care under the supervision of the Director of Food and Nutrition Services. You will join a nutrition support team and collaborate with pharmacists and physicians to ensure safe, therapeutic diets.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient nutritional care under the supervision of the Director of Food and Nutrition Services.
• Be a member of the Nutrition Support Team with the pharmacist and physician(s).
• Provide nutritional screenings and assessments of patients.
• Educate patients on therapeutic diets.
• Inform Aide staff on allowed/disallowed foods based on prescribed diets.
• Document patient tolerance and responses to nutritional support and make recommendations.

What you will do in this role

• You will be a member of Nutrition Support Team with the pharmacist and physician(s).
• You will provide nutritional screenings and assessments of patients.
• You will educate the patient on therapeutic diets.
• You will inform Aide staff in deciding which patient foods are allowed and disallowed based on the prescribed diet.
• You will document the patient’s tolerance, appropriateness, response to nutritional support and make recommendations.

What qualifications you will need

• Commission Dietetic Registration
• Licensed Dietician must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
