The salary range for this position is $30.89 – $43.25 per hour.

Placement within the salary range depends on factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For union‑represented positions, placement follows the collective bargaining agreement.

Position Summary

The Dietitian reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and other regulatory and accreditation standards. The Dietitian collaborates with members of the health care team to provide medical nutrition therapy, identifies patients at high nutrition risk based on criteria outlined by the Hospital, and assesses nutrition needs to identify nutrient requirements according to age and disease‑specific needs of patients. The role is an Outpatient Pediatric Dietitian working collaboratively with the Pediatric Gastroenterology teams.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a nutrition plan of care for all assigned patients.
  • Foster continuity of care across the continuum.
  • Continuously evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions.
  • Provide nutrition education to patients and families on appropriate food choices and eating behaviors to achieve goals.
  • Manage the delivery of nutrition care services at the assigned site and participate in performance improvement.
  • Mentor Diet Clerks and other support personnel.
  • Actively assess, evaluate, and maintain professional development and competency related to the competencies outlined in the position description.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in food and nutrition or dietetics.
  • Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Licensed Dietitian within the State of Illinois.
  • Maintains dietetic registration, state‑required credentials, and/or licensure and continuing education requirements.
  • Good instructional and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in hospital clinical dietetics.
  • Proficiency in Nutrition Focused Physical Exams.
  • Previous active role with hospital or department Performance Improvement projects or committees.
