The State of Georgia is seeking a Dietitian/Nutritionist to lead nutritional programs, conduct assessments, and provide education to enhance health and prevent disease. This role involves collaboration with healthcare professionals and managing food service operations. The position offers competitive benefits and requires a valid Georgia license.
Under broad supervision, plan and conduct food service or nutritional programs to promote health and control disease.
Provide nutritional assessment, education, and counseling to individuals, groups, or the public. Serve as a resource on nutrition and dietetics to healthcare professionals, including nurses and health educators. Recommend nutritional care plans, document progress, and serve as a team leader. Advise clients and families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, modifications, and food choices. Assess nutritional needs, restrictions, and health plans to develop and implement dietary care and counseling.
Consult with physicians and healthcare staff to determine nutritional needs and restrictions. Develop and standardize recipes, create new menus for food service operations, and counsel on healthy eating habits and nutrition monitoring to improve quality of life.
Develop educational curricula, manuals, visual aids, and course outlines. Establish policies for food service or nutritional programs to support health promotion and disease prevention.
Inspect meals for compliance with prescribed diets and standards of palatability and appearance. Monitor food service operations for adherence to nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards. Manage budgets for food, equipment, and supplies. Serve as an expert resource and project or team leader.
Perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, or related fields from an accredited program, plus one year of experience as a dietitian/nutritionist, registration with the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics, and licensure in Georgia. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree plus verification of completion of an accredited didactic program and three years of relevant experience, or two years at a lower level position, are acceptable.
