Job Description
Responsible for monitoring the AHS's compliance with current applicable Federal, State, and local dietary standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensures that the highest quality resident care is maintained at all times.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Provides clinical nutrition assessment and documentation for general medical and surgical oncology, bariatric/weight management, and critical care.
- Maintains quality assurance and evaluates compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and State and Federal guidelines.
- Assists in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the Dietary Department, its programs, and activities.
- Supports dietary staff in the use of departmental policies and procedures.
- Provides written and oral reports to the Administrator regarding the operations of the Dietary Department.
- Manages and improves policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, making recommendations to the Corporate Dietitian.
- Develops and participates in educational sessions for staff to enhance knowledge and improve resident care within the Dietary Department.
- Reviews relevant websites, publications, and educational materials to ensure standards of practice are being met.
- Monitors food temperature and taste through Test Trays, Meal Evaluations, and review of Food Temperature Logs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science, or a related field.
- Licensed in New Jersey as a Registered Dietetic Technician, Registered Dietitian, or through the Dietary Manager Association, as applicable.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in acute care clinical nutrition or a relevant area.
