Job Description

Responsible for monitoring the AHS's compliance with current applicable Federal, State, and local dietary standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensures that the highest quality resident care is maintained at all times.

Principal Accountabilities:

The Gunnar H. Esiason Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center is seeking a Registered Dietitian for our outpatient clinic.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. Evaluate the nutritional status of patients by reviewing pertinent information obtained from the electronic medical record and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  2. Apply knowledge of nutrition screening and assessment to provide medical nutrition therapy by developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans. Strong knowledge of diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, and cardiovascular-related nutrition care is preferred.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
  4. Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical records of patient interactions and progress.
  5. Stay current with nutritional science and evidence-based practices.
  6. Participate in quality improvement activities and research projects.
  7. Assist with additional duties within the department as necessary.
  8. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable in one-on-one counseling settings.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science, or a related field.
  • Licensed with the State of New Jersey as a Registered Dietetic Technician, Registered Dietitian, or through the Dietary Manager Association, or as applicable.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in acute care clinical nutrition or relevant area.
