Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Erie seeks a dedicated Dietitian to assess nutritional needs and develop tailored dietary plans. You will educate patients on post-discharge nutrition and monitor progress, working closely with physicians and care teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

The role emphasizes personalized nutrition, documentation in medical records, and implementing care plans to support recovery and well-being.

Qualifications

• Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is expected.
• State licensure required.
• Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership is preferred.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Food & Nutrition from an accredited institution.
• One year of Clinical Dietetics experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Counsel and communicate with patients per physician orders and diet instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other care disciplines involved in patient care.
• Evaluate referral orders for adequacy of nutrition intake methods.
• Document patient information in medical records per standards.
• Implement nutrition care plans and adapt menus for dietary needs.
• Conduct calorie counts and make recommendations.
• Review and sign menus for nutritional adequacy.
