The Clinical Dietitian I (CD I) provides evidenced-based nutrition care to patients/families using practices that satisfy the needs/concerns of assigned patients. The CD I can formulate and implement an individualized nutrition care plan using current medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and works/collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary team within Cook Children's Health Care System (CCHCS). The CD I contributes to nutrition care decisions that lead to positive outcomes and is an effective educator to patients, families/caregivers, and staff. The CD I addresses routine problems in the work environment by providing assistance or referring these to other, more experienced team members. The CD I prioritizes workload, delivers nutrition care to assigned patients, and discusses/assists/advocates for the nutritional care needs of the patient/family. The ability to manage daily workload, identify routine problems in the work area, and solve problems with advance/assistance from others is required. Provides professional guidance to in/outpatients, staff, outside agencies, students, and the community while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights. This position receives oversight by the Clinical Nutrition Manager.
