Job summary

Corewell Health in Royal Oak Hospital is seeking a Dietitian Support/ Nutrition Assistant to aid in planning and implementing the nutrition care plan. You will visit patients to assist with menu selections, obtain nutrition histories, provide basic diet information and modify tray service as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak and communicate effectively in English.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent; 1 year of relevant experience with food service or related.

Responsibilities

• Visiting patients to assist with menu selection and obtain diet histories.
• Liaise with patients, dietitians and food service on meal needs and concerns.
• Follow up to ensure patients tolerate diets and meet special needs.
• Update computer files to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Use computer systems to communicate with food service and maintain records.
• Assist in modifying procedures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide excellent service per Corewell Health standards.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete required safety competencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
