THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED AT THE BANGERTER CROSSING AND DISTRICT STORES

$68,500 PER YEAR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to encourage healthy lifestyles by providing nutrition education and guidance to Harmons’ associates and customers. This person will be providing individual nutrition counseling, assisting with the Dietitians Choice program, participating in our Traveling Dietitian program and Harmons Better Basics teams, conducting store tours and cooking school classes, and representing Harmons at various community events. This person will also provide exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
2. Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
3. Represents Harmons at various community events including health fairs, workshops, etc.
4. Conducts store tours about making healthy choices
5. Creates and conducts interactive workshops on various nutrition topics
6. Provides individual nutrition counseling including meal planning and diet analysis
7. Works with other Harmons dietitians on the Dietitians Choice, healthy checkout lanes, and Traveling Dietitian programs
8. Researches and provides objective assessment of current diet and nutrition trends.
9. Acts as nutrition expert for local media outlets, including print media and live television appearances.
10. Plans and oversees wellness program events
11. Participates in Harmons Better Basics teams and assists with recipe development and analysis
12. Provides internal promotion of dietitian services through blogging, emails, etc.
13. Completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
14. Sets a professional and positive example to others
15. Assists as needed to ensure the success of the store as a whole

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

1. A two- or four-year college degree in nutrition or related field preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
2. Certified or Registered Dietitian certification
3. Extensive knowledge of nutrition topics including gluten-free, food allergies, diabetes, weight loss, etc.
4. Must be comfortable as a public speaker
5. Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office Suite, the internet, and basic office equipment
6. Ability to interpret policies and procedures
7. Excellent organization and planning skills
8. Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with and manage diverse groups of people
9. Ability to appropriately and professionally handle conflict
10. Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team
11. Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized analytical skills and techniques
