Additional Job Description This position is for Weight Management – Coon Rapids location .8 FTE (64 hours in two week pay period) Day shift hours - 7:30am – 4:30pm, and 8:00am – 4:00pm, Hybrid position No weekends No major holidays Come work with a highly collaborative team that supports people suffering from overweight and obesity. This position supports both medical and surgical weight loss programs. Patients are seen both in person and through virtual visits. We have the largest program in Minnesota with 3 surgeons, 2 physicians, 22 mid-level providers, and 18 dietitians. Work is supported by an awesome team of nurses and medical assistants.

Job Description

Plans, directs and provides medical nutrition therapy to inpatients, outpatients and staff within the community. Assesses nutritional status and provides individualized nutrition care plans and education from the analysis of the medical record and patient information. Provides nutrition education within the organization and community.

Principle Responsibilities
  • Develops individualized nutrition care plans for medically unstable patients of all ages.
  • Assesses need for, delivers and evaluates effect of nutrition counseling for clients of varying medical problems.
  • Utilizes nutrition screens/assessment tools to address identified needs for patients.
  • May require development of therapeutic plans for specialized nutrition support, including enteral and parenteral nutrition.
  • Assesses needs and identifies designated resources to initiate follow-up nutrition care.
  • Works in collaboration with health team members, patients and families in the care process.
  • Documents patient information and communication in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinates work experiences for internship learning goals, monitors and evaluates progress.
  • Provides nutrition education to hospital support groups and the community.
  • Provides education follow-up to align with patient treatment goals.
  • May assist in developing and revising patient education materials and protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition Services or Dietetics, and successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited and supervised practice program
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years experience working in a healthcare setting
  • Licenses/Certifications Registered Dietitian credential (RD) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration within 90 days of hire required, and License (LD) through the Minnesota Board of Dietetics and Nutrition Practice within 90 days of hire required, and Certification (CD) with Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (inpatient Dietitians only) within 90 days of hire.
  • Current employees must obtain their CD with Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services by March 31, 2026
  • Certified Diabetes Educator - National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators preferred upon hire
  • Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD) upon hire preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver’s license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment if providing services for Home Care and Hospice

Pay Range

Pay Range Pay Range: $29.31 to $40.17 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
