Job summary

The California Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero seeks a Dietetics Assistant Director to oversee Nutrition Services, ensuring the safe preparation and provision of patient meals, nourishing nourishments, and ancillary dietetic services while maintaining compliance with Joint Commission, licensing, environmental health, HACCP, and food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Eligible through certification list, transfer eligibility, or reinstatement eligibility.
• Must meet minimum qualifications in examination bulletin/classification specifications.
• Exam is a separate process from applying.

Responsibilities

• Manages personnel and staffing related activities for Nutrition Services.
• Plans, organizes, and directs Nutrition Services for patient meals and related services.
• Ensures adherence to safety, HACCP, and food safety standards.
• Participates in quality control monitoring and performance improvement activities.
