Dietary Storeroom Attendant - St Joseph Warren Hospital - Mercy Health

THIS IS A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNIT POSITION

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Dietary Storeroom Attendant is responsible for receiving and storing food and supplies, assembling and delivering floor stock, and assisting with cleaning tasks. The role involves checking goods upon delivery to ensure quality and sanitation standards are met, proper labeling, dating, and rotation of items are maintained according to specifications.

Essential Job Functions

1. Receive deliveries, verify accuracy with delivery statements, check quality and standards, unload, and organize items for storage. Move and lift heavy items safely, report discrepancies to management.
2. Store items properly, rotate stock using FIFO, conduct inventory, communicate needs or concerns including expired items, and keep storage areas clean and organized.
3. Prepare and deliver floor stock to hospital departments, restock kitchen and cafeteria supplies, and replenish chemicals as needed. Report equipment issues promptly.
4. Perform cleaning duties for equipment and work areas, participate in meetings, and train new employees as requested.

Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Work Experience

Previous experience in food stocking and rotation preferred.
