Qualifications

• Must be eligible for hire and receive facility orientation
• Must be able to lift up to 20lbs, stand for long periods, and perform bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching tasks
• Must be able to read and write
• ServeSafe certification within the last two years preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation as scheduled, including items that can be made in advance under the dietary technician's direction
• Prepare special or modified diets as ordered on the dietary menus
• Assist with meal service as directed by the Dietary Technician
• Ensure foods are stored and served at appropriate temperatures
• Help manage food inventory by rotating stock
• Prepare snacks for service three times per day
• Respect resident rights while preparing and serving meals
• Abide by health department and environmental health rules
• Assist with cleaning all kitchen and dining areas and other tasks as instructed
• Ensure all cooking materials and resident dinnerware are cleaned after each meal
• Participate in job-related training activities and perform other duties as delegated by supervisor/Administration

About the Role:

As a Dietary Services Assistant, you will play a vital part in our dining services team, assisting with meal preparation, food storage and service, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. Responsibilities:

• Assist with meal preparation as scheduled, including preparing items that can be made in advance under the direction of the dietary technician
• Prepare special or modified diets as ordered on the dietary menus and in accordance with the diet ordered for each resident
• Assist with meal service as directed by the Dietary Technician
• Ensure that foods are stored and served at appropriate temperatures
• Help manage food inventory by rotating stock, as directed by the dietary technician
• Prepare snacks as ordered on the dietary menu for service by aides three times per day
• Respect all resident rights while preparing and serving meals
• Abide by the rules and regulations set by the department of health and human services and the department of environmental health
• Assist with cleaning all kitchen and dining room areas, and special assigned cleaning tasks as instructed by the dietary technician
• Ensure that all cooking materials and resident dinnerware is cleaned after each meal
• Participate in job-related training activities and perform other job-related duties as delegated by the supervisor and/or Administration
