Dietary Manager - SIGN ON BONUS Available!

Job Summary:
Dahl Memorial Healthcare seeks a skilled and dedicated Dietary Manager to join our Dietary Services team. The Dietary manager will oversee dietary employees and ensure that Dietary standards are consistently met. This role is crucial in leading and managing a team of employees to provide nutritious and well-prepared meals to our patients, staff, and visitors. This position is eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus for a 2-year commitment!

Education and Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) (preferred or must be obtained within a specified time frame after hire).
  • ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification (required or must be obtained within a specified time after hire).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in food service management in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital, long-term care facility, or similar environment.
  • Experience managing a team of kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Experience with menu planning and nutritional analysis to meet patient dietary requirements, including specialized diets.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, including:
    • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) standards for identifying and controlling food safety hazards throughout the food production process.
    • State and Local Health Department Regulations, which set specific requirements for food service operations within healthcare facilities.
    • Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Guidelines, which outline regulations for food and nutrition services in hospitals, emphasizing patient safety and dietary compliance.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, including the ability to manage staff, inventory, and budgets.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, patients, and other healthcare providers.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with dietary management software, Microsoft Office, and inventory management systems.
