Job summary

MediLodge of Plymouth is seeking a Dietary Manager to supervise the facility's dietary services, ensuring quality meals and patient-centered care. You will lead staff, manage inventory, and coordinate with Nursing to address residents’ dietary needs.

The role requires a high school diploma, state nutrition certification, and at least two years in dietary operations, including LTC. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed or certified as a nutrition professional by the state where services are performed.
• CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) or CFM (Certified Food Manager).
• Two years of experience in dietary operations, including long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Provides training, direction, and guidance for dietary staff.
• Participates in hiring, disciplining and evaluation of dietary employees.
• Schedules and supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains adequate food stocks and inventory.
• Participates in the facility’s Performance Improvement Program.
• Orders supplies, checks shipments, and conducts inventories.
• Monitors supply usage for cost efficiency.
• Prepares work schedules and ensures adequate staffing.
• Works with Nursing staff to address dietary needs and documentation.

Education

Qualifications:

Experience

• Two years of experience in Dietary operations, one of which was in a long-term care environment.

Job Functions

• Provides training, direction, and guidance for the dietary staff.
• Participates in the hiring, disciplining and evaluation of dietary employees.
• Schedules and supervises the cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensures that adequate stocks of appropriate food are available and maintains an accurate inventory.
• Participates in facility “Performance Improvement Program.”
• Orders supplies, checks shipments, and conducts inventories.
• Monitors supply usage for appropriateness and efficiency.
• Prepares work schedules and maintains adequate staffing.
• Participates in the predicting, planning, monitoring and evaluating of cost programs as assigned.
• Responsible for the completion of dietary documentation, patient histories, and food preferences.
• Works closely with Nursing staff to ensure that proper dietary needs are being recorded, addressed, and delivered.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of infection control techniques.
• Knowledge of commercial food service equipment operation.
