Job summary

ALIYA Healthcare Consulting is seeking a Dietary Manager to lead our Dietary Department in a patient-centered facility. You will partner with the Dietitian to plan, organize, and direct daily nutritional services, ensuring quality and safety in line with physician orders.

You will develop staff descriptions, evaluate performance, review policies, maintain records, and supervise dietary operations from menu planning to compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or related medical facility.
• Knowledge of dietary practices and applicable laws and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and directing the Dietary Department.
• Develop and maintain job descriptions and evaluations for dietary staff.
• Review policies and revise as needed.
• Inspect storage rooms, utility closets, and supply areas for upkeep and control.
• Process diet changes from Nursing Department.
• Review complaints and prepare written reports.
• Assist during resident discharge planning.
• Participate in facility surveys and maintain records of resident food likes and dislikes.
• Review diet plans and menus for compliance with physician's orders.
• Ensure charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive.
• Maintain stock levels of staple and non-staple food, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist Infection Control Committee in developing aseptic techniques.
• Maintain dietary service work areas in a clean and sanitary manner.

As a Dietary Manager, you'll partner with our Dietitian to plan, organize, and direct the overall operation of our Dietary Department, ensuring that quality nutritional services are provided to our residents on a daily basis. Your leadership and expertise will be instrumental in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for our residents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Dietary Department
• Develop and maintain written job descriptions and performance evaluations for dietary personnel
• Review policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions for revisions and make recommendations
• Inspect food storage rooms, utility closets, and other areas for upkeep and supply control
• Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Department
• Review departmental complaints and grievances from personnel and make written reports
• Assist during resident discharge planning
• Participate in facility surveys and maintain records of resident food likes and dislikes
• Review therapeutic and regular diet plans and menus for compliance with physician's orders
• Ensure charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive
• Maintain stock levels of staple and non-staple food, supplies, and equipment
• Assist the Infection Control Committee in developing aseptic and isolation techniques
• Ensure dietary service work areas, food storage, and food preparation areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner
