Job summary

The Full-Time Dietary Manager oversees the hospital’s Nutritional Services department in Austin, ensuring safe, high-quality meals for patients, staff and visitors while maintaining compliance with food safety regulations.

Responsibilities include supervising food service personnel, menu planning, inventory, budgeting, and quality assurance. The role collaborates with dietitians and clinical staff to meet therapeutic dietary needs; weekend/holiday work may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree preferred in Nutrition/Food Service Management/Hospitality Management or related field.
• Supervisory/management experience in healthcare food service required.
• Current Food Handler Certification; ServSafe Manager or CDM certification preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and budgeting skills.
• Knowledge of hospital dietary regulations and therapeutic diets.
• Bi-Lingual a plus.

The Full-Time Dietary Manager is responsible for the overall operation and management of the hospital's Nutritional Services Department. This position ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and nutritionally appropriate meals to patients, visitors, physicians, and staff while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations. The Dietary Manager oversees food service personnel, menu planning, inventory management, budgeting, and quality assurance activities to support excellent patient outcomes and customer satisfaction. May step in as cook when applicable. This role collaborates with clinical staff and dietitians to meet specialized dietary needs and promotes a culture of service excellence, safety, and operational efficiency throughout the department. This position may require weekend and holiday work if needed.
