Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Memphis, TN is seeking a Cook to join our dining services team. You will prepare meals according to approved menus, follow safety and sanitation standards, and assist in supervising staff when the Dining Services Director is absent.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean kitchen, monitoring portions, recording temperatures, and assisting with menu substitutions as needed. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Must be Serv-Safe certified, or willing to complete certification within 60 days of hire.
• Experience in dining services is required.
• Ability to read, write and perform simple calculations.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items according to standard recipes.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
• Monitor and control portion sizes to minimize waste.
• Supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dining Services Director.
• Take and record food temperatures three times daily.
