Job summary

Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital seeks an Environmental Services Aide for a full-time shift 12:30PM-9:00PM to keep the kitchen area clean and sanitary. You will sweep, mop, disinfect surfaces, clean appliances, dispose of trash, wash dishes, and assist with organizing kitchen supplies.

Prior housekeeping/janitorial experience is required, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year of experience in housekeeping/janitorial work.
• Must be able to work in the United States.
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors and all storage/walk-in areas.
• Wipe down and disinfect all surfaces.
• Dispose of trash in receptacles.
• Clean and organize the fridge for cleanliness.
• Clean stove tops and crevices.
• Remove kitchen vents/hoods to clean them.
• Clean the ovens and shelves.
• Assist with organizing and storing kitchen supplies, equipment, utensils, and pots/pans.
• Wash dishes and ensure spills are cleaned to prevent falls.
• Dust and deep clean floor mats.
• Clean kitchen sinks, drains, and garbage areas.
• Dispose of expired food and clean exterior of appliances.
• Wipe fridges to remove fingerprints and smudges.
• Clean beverage dispensers and refill as needed.
• Clean oven walls/doors/racks and sanitize ice machines.
• Run cleaning chemicals through coffee machines.
• Wash behind hot lines and coffee machines/filters.
• Remove grease buildup and manage sanitation buckets.
• Rinse and reuse laundry rags and trash the rest.
• Empty steam table and clean.
• Wash meat slicer and prep surfaces.
• Ensure restroom near kitchen is tidy with towels and soap.
• Refill cleaning chemicals and notify supervisor if stock is low.

Responsibilities:

• Sweep and mop floors and all storage/walk-in areas

• Routinely dipose of trash in receptycles
• Cleans, organizes, and maintains fridge for cleanliness
• Cleans the stove tops & crevices
• Removes kitchen vents/hoods to clean them

• Assists with the organizing and storing of kitchen supplies, equipment, utensils, and pots/pans.

• Refills all chemicals and informs Supervisor if any need to be ordered
• May assist with labeling items and checking them for expiration
• All other duties as assigned
