Job summary

Height Street Skilled Care in Bakersfield, CA is hiring a full-time Dietary Cook to pre-prepare meals in compliance with federal, state, and local standards and facility policies. You will coordinate with the Dietary Director and other departments to ensure quality food service for residents.

The role requires reading and understanding English, following directions promptly, maintaining a neat appearance, and having a valid Food Handlers Card. Shift is 4 days on, 2 days off, with AM/PM options.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow and complete directions and tasks in a timely manner.
• Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
• Must have a Food Handlers Card.

Responsibilities

• Review menu prior to food preparation.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident.
• Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc. for submission to the Dietary Director.
• Coordinate Dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Work with the facility's Dietary Director as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
• Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.
• Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Departments.
• Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments to meet residents' needs.

Shift: Full Time (4 days on 2 days off rotating schedule)
