Job summary

AVIR Health Group is seeking a qualified Dietary Cook to join our family. This role prepares and cooks high-quality foods for residents, guests, and employees, following state health rules and facility standards.

The ideal candidate is resident-focused, team-oriented, and eager to help build a positive culture within our community. Responsibilities include using diverse cooking equipment, preparing modified diets as needed, adjusting recipes for serving sizes, testing and refining recipes, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous Nursing Home experience preferred.
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
