Job summary

AVIR Health Group is seeking a qualified Dietary Cook to join our family and support our residents, guests, and employees. The role focuses on preparing and cooking high-quality meals for regular and modified diets while adhering to state health regulations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and experience in healthcare food service, preferably in nursing homes. Walk-ins are welcome for quick onboarding and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous office experience preferred.
• Previous Nursing Home experience preferred.
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
