Job Description: Dietary Cook (Part-Time)
Location: Eastbrook Healthcare Center
Salary: $15/Hour
Position Type: Part-Time
Shift: 6a-2p with rotating weekends
Job Overview:
Eastbrook Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Dietary Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals in compliance with dietary guidelines and health regulations. This part-time position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of our residents/clients while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook various meals according to planned menus, dietary requirements, and nutritional guidelines.
- Portion and serve meals, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to food safety standards.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating resident preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including the proper storage of food and supplies.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with dietitians and kitchen staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to ensure kitchen efficiency.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance cooking skills and stay updated on best practices.
- Respond to resident feedback regarding meals and make adjustments as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in cooking or food preparation, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions, nutrition, and food safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to interact with residents and staff.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
