Job summary

Blue Ridge Senior Living is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare, cook and serve meals for residents in a long-term care setting. You will follow established sanitation, safety and dietary procedures to ensure high-quality meals and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities include serving meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, monitoring temperatures, and assisting the Dietary Manager with supervision of dietary aides. A high school diploma and prior LTC experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of 1 year of long-term care experience preferred.
• Experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
• Ability to follow sanitation and dietary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food in quantities according to the menu and number of residents.
• Serves meals and assists with set‑up and tear‑down of food-service areas.
• Maintains clean work areas and proper storage of foods.
• Monitors temperatures in refrigerators and freezers.
• Assists Dietary Manager by delegating tasks when approved.
• Complies with sanitation, health, and safety standards; attends required meetings.
