Job summary

NHC HealthCare Joplin in Joplin, Missouri, is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare meals for residents in a healthcare setting. You will follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and therapeutic diets to ensure appealing, safe meals for patients and staff.

AM and PM shifts are available, with both part-time and full-time opportunities. Healthcare food service experience is preferred but not required; we provide training, a supportive team, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Healthcare food service experience preferred, not required.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies to prevent waste and assure quality.
• Review menus, therapeutic menus, recipes, and production sheets; prepare and serve diets as planned.
• Follow standardized recipes and special diet orders with proper portions.
• Test and taste foods for quality, appearance, aroma and temperature.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to standardized recipes and diet orders.
• Ensure proper portioning and presentation for patients and customers.
• Deliver trays and meals on time according to service schedule.
• Assist with receiving, storing and labeling of food and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in kitchen area.
