Job summary

Lowry Hills Care & Rehabilitation Center in Aurora, Colorado, is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents, following menus and standardized recipes while ensuring safe food handling and timely service.

You will work with a team that values compassion, professional growth, and quality nutrition. The role offers early shifts and a competitive hourly rate of $20.00–$24.00, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Two years as cook in a large-scale cooking operation, preferred.
• One year’s work experience in long term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes; refer to supervisor for menu changes.
• Reviews menus and census information to determine quantities.
• Prepares food according to safe handling guidelines per policy and regulations.
• Assists with food ordering, storage and preparation to meet on-time service.
• Maintains standards for food preparation and quality of service.
• Operates kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixer, slicer, steamer, processor; bakes, roasts, broils, and steams as needed.
• Completes pre-preparation including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables and fruits.
• Ensures meals are prepared and served attractively; monitors temperatures.
