Job summary

The Laurels of Norworth is seeking a compassionate dietary cook to support food preparation and presentation for guests with health and physical limitations. Join a team that values service and care in a welcoming facility setting.

You will handle, prepare, and set up food according to recipes, assist with tray assembly and delivery, and maintain kitchen cleanliness and safety. A high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of institutional food service experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience as a food service aide in an institutional food service setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures and safe food handling guidelines.
• Assists with food preparation as assigned by supervisor.
• Prepares food items according to standardized recipes insuring safe food handling practices.
• Assists with the set-up of the food tray line.
• Assembles diet trays and delivers tray carts to dining areas or to units.
• Cleans dishes, utensils and equipment according to facility procedures.
• Assists in dishwashing operation and cleaning tasks.
