Job summary

Avir Health Group in Smithville, Texas is seeking a qualified Dietary Cook to join our family-focused team and help care for our residents.

You will utilize cooking equipment, prepare meals, adjust diets for individual needs, and lead kitchen helpers to deliver meals with quality and appeal.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in culinary/food service in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Nursing home experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
