Job summary

Willow Springs Center in Reno, Nevada, is seeking a full-time Dietary Cook to support the dietary department in preparing meals for patients, staff and visitors. The role requires partial evenings, weekends, and holidays coverage and involves ordering, planning, prepping, cooking, inventory, supervision, sanitation and cleaning.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of demonstrated responsible food service experience preparing bulk meals.
• ServSafe certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate kitchen equipment and ensure sanitary food preparation.
• Assist with menu items, meal prep and cooking.
• Oversee staff and ensure safety in the kitchen.
• Manage inventory and ordering; report issues as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and appliances.

Responsibilities

Willow Springs Center has an opening for a full time Dietary Cook.

Schedule available:

11:30am-8:30pm TUES/WEDS OFF

(This position includes occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. This positions also provides coverage for team vacations.*)

The purpose of this position is to support the efforts of the dietary department in the preparation of food for patients, staff and visitors. This position participates in ordering, planning, prepping, cooking, inventory management, staff oversight, sanitation and general cleaning.

The job duties listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

1. Operates kitchen equipment: can demonstrate methods of sanitary food preparation, cooking, and baking.
2. Demonstrates and takes personal ownership in the success of the Dietary Department and Willow Springs Center.
3. Serves as a role model for the behavior that is expected of dietary staff at Willow Springs Center.
4. Cleans and maintains all kitchen appliances, reports issues or concerns to Manager and/or Lead who are to notify Plant Operations for repair as needed.
5. Works with Department Manager and Lead to learn menu items, meal preparation, departmental organization and staff safety.
