Job summary

Legacy Health and Rehabilitation of Pleasant Grove is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to support residents by preparing nutritious meals per physician orders and dietary guidelines. You will uphold food safety standards, assist with meal service, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Patience, compassion, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward serving the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Previous cooking experience is preferred; healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and infection prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes and therapeutic diet requirements.
• Ensure meals are prepared, portioned and served according to quality and food safety standards.
• Review production sheets and resident diet orders to ensure accuracy.
• Properly store, label and rotate food items using FIFO practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, workstations and food preparation areas.
• Monitor food temperatures and follow all state, federal and facility food safety regulations.
• Assist with meal service as needed and work collaboratively with the dietary team.
• Follow all infection prevention, sanitation, Universal Precautions and workplace safety procedures.

Position Overview: Dietary Cook

As a Dietary Cook, you'll play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of our residents by preparing nutritious, high-quality meals in accordance with physician-ordered diets and established food safety standards. You'll help create a positive dining experience while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.

Qualifications
